Introduction:

About: kinesthetic, hands on, willing to try things out of my comfort zone, i love biking and sailing

as you may have seen on you tube or on the news theirs a new craze out. drifting but on a 3 wheeled bike that has plastic wheels on the back known as a drift trike.  i should have pictures of my one up soon. heres a link to so you what you can do with one of these bad boys in the video they have pedals now the one ill show you how to make doesn't have pedals in stead it has pegs on the front wheel axle.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wCMBE4bhm1o so lets make one.

Step 1: What You Will Need

so what you will need:
a old kiddy bike with front brakes (that work)
some blow up sack barrow wheels and axle
PVC pipe that slides over the wheels when flat about 40cm
welder
grinder
tools to pull apart the bike
an old computer chair or something that is nice and comfortable and sturdy in my case a old bar stool
an some bmx pegs or some thick steel pipe
optional paint to color the bike frame

Step 2: Pulling Apart Bike

now take a part your bike so that all you have left is the frame with forks, head set, handle bars, brakes and take out the shaft and bearings were the cranks are in the bottom of the frame you should be left with a greasy circle on the bottom of the frame

Step 3: Cuting Up Frame

now you take your grinder with (cutting disc to make it easy to cut the fame into shape) and cut the fame into the shape in the picture 1 keep in mind you still have forks and handle bars on. leave about 25cm of the frame HERE in picture . then get a piece from the scrap bits you cut off (the same size as HERE) and weld it to the end of HERE down to THERE it doesn't have to be exact its only to add strength to the head tube. look at picture 1. it should now look like this picture2.

Step 4: WELDING WHEELS

now you need to get your wheels and axle and weld the axle in were the old back wheel axle fitted into make sure it is even. if you want to if you think your axle isn't strong you can weld a piece of box tubing on the back of axle but you probably wont have to. [optional] but recommended.  now for the kool part painting the frame make sure the wheels are of the axle this is the part of the instructable you can get creative paint your frame cool colors or even put a design on you can use automotive paint or paint that you can put in a spay gun for an air compressor

Step 5: Final Touches

now put you pegs on by putting the front wheel on then putting the peg on the axle for the seat you need to weld a thick sheet of steel to the top side of the frame at the back the put your seat on the steel sheet and put 2 holes in the seat and the steel sheet then put bolts through the holes and tighten so there you go have fun and be safe i will not be held responsible for any injures always wear a helmet on these trikes  vote for me for the spring bike contest i am putting another instructable up for how to make dog friendly chocolate
