Step 3: Connecting it all

take a phone cable(could be in the house or outside, just find the right cable)
and carefully strip 2" off of the outside without damaing the insulation of the inner wires
inside there will be a red and a green wire
put the tap around one of them
connect the tap to
the computer
first calibrate scanrec
put the tap on your own line and make a phone call
record it and listen to the recordings(see below)
if a piece is clipped off the beginnin/did not record at all
set the squelch to a lower level and try again

to record
press Open
select file name and destination and press enter
if you want to compress it so it uses up less space select copression format and press enter
then press Record

to listen what it recorded
press Stop and Close
then open the file(wmp doesen't seem to play it and it probably will be too soft to hear so use audacity to amplify
