hey i tried it and it made my cube mor stiff :( i just did it a couple minites ago.  will it loosen up over time?
bassclarinet23 says: Feb 28, 2010. 7:12 PM
Just so you know, Petroleum Jelly contains petroleum. When petroleum and plastic, let's say from a Rubik's cube, the petroleum erodes the plastic...eats away at it, if you will. ;)
technologicalterror says: Jan 6, 2012. 5:36 PM
I had mine after it was lubricated for about a month and nothing happend.
mosted1 says: Jun 6, 2011. 2:44 AM
Yeah, so its a good thing to put in a stiff cube for a day or 2 so it become looser, and then clear out the jelly next you could use silicon lubricant to really lubricate it.
technologicalterror says: Jan 6, 2012. 5:34 PM
I'm just a beginner but I was able to solve in 1.33:447, please reply if you like my time.
sk8master says: Feb 27, 2009. 2:21 PM

Go to YouTube and look up "Rubik's Cube Part 1". It is the sole reason I can solve the thing.

Kingspade350 says: Sep 17, 2009. 5:44 PM
my best time is 20.82 seconds, got a computer scramble so i couldnt cheat. i usually get 25 sub but this is a pretty good way of doing it. great instructable
loppilop says: Jul 3, 2009. 4:12 PM
My best time (52 seconds) was actually on a friend's rubik's cube because my own cube was so unfortunately unturnable. lol These instructions are really helpful. Thanks
lobo_pal says: Sep 9, 2008. 3:08 PM
Average for me without lubing is between 30s and 1 min.
bballmason6 says: Jun 21, 2008. 8:53 AM
I can do my cube in 1:50 but I just learned a week ago.
pyroman22 says: Jun 6, 2008. 8:59 PM

my record was 34.23 seconds my fastest was 23.09 with a fridrich method
CaptainCrash says: Jan 21, 2008. 10:36 AM
nice instructable. I use personally like using silicon oil because it's easier to apply. I've been getting a bunch of sub 17 averages lately with the Petrus method.

Practice is key.
kornfan140 says: Jan 9, 2008. 4:40 PM
I solved it in 1:56, but i jus learned how to do it
shortsonfire79 says: Jan 7, 2008. 6:22 PM
i can do it in 40 sec. without the lube stuff. the cube i bought is pretty broken in, and i replaced..took off too, the stickers that were origionally on it, and used differetn colored duckt tape to keep it from peeling. i might try your method, but maybe not.
charlie14L says: Dec 15, 2007. 3:21 PM
I can solve it in average of about 1:30 ish but i have done in 42.63 seconds for my record
