Introduction: Customise Your Hoodie

I have wanted for a long time to try to make myself a nice colored hoodie , so the decision to participate to the Sew Warm contest helped me to organize my time and to finally accomplish my plan. The idea of most of the things I create is to recycle, so in this case also I will use only things that would normally get to the garbage.
This is my first instructable , I hope you will like it, I surely liked creating it,so enjoy! :)
The thing I liked most about creating this hoodie is that it was so easy, because I don't have sewing experience , I don't know how to create patterns, and for creating a hoodie like this you don't need this kind of knowledge

Step 1: Materials

Materials required :
some nice colored leftovers fabric (you can go ask at any tailor workshop, they throw it anyway)
an old hoodie
a sewing machine
an iron and ironing table
scissors

Step 2: Preparation

You need to disassemble the old hoodie into pieces.Keep the zipper and the edges aside , because they don't get changed and you will only sew them back at the final.
This will be your pattern, and every piece of the old hoodie will be sewed separately.
Prepare your fabric leftovers by choosing the ones that you will use, make sure you have enough.

Step 3:

Iron the fabric , and cut them into long pieces,(mine were already like this , that's the beauty of leftovers)
Make a small fold on the edge of the fabrics with the iron.

Step 4:

Sew the long pieces together using a nice pattern if your sewing machine has more( all the new sewing machines have more from which you can choose
When you sew the fabrics, take in consideration the old hoodie pieces, and make each piece a little bigger.
The back part and the sleeves should be easy.
For the hood you can prepare a long ribbon which will after be sewed circular if you desire an elf hood aspect.
For the front pieces you must take care of the pocket area. Try to copy what you see at the old hoodie,if you consider it to hard, cover them and go without pockets,it's your choice.

Step 5:

Sew each piece of the old hoodie with the new one made of the fabrics. After you've finished with all,cut the edges of the new piece that is extra.

Step 6:

Sew the pieces all together as they were before .If you own a serger, you must use it after every sew, if not there is no problem, but it might last less.
After you finished sewing all the pieces, it's time for adding the edges and the zipper. Try to start with the bottom  edge, and then the edge of the sleeves , last comes  the zipper.

At the end you will have a nice totally new hoodie made by recycling, easy and in short time(it took me 2 days to make it - I consider it fast, but maybe you can make it faster
