How to create a fischertechnik 3 Way Switch!

I play with different educational manipulatives for a living. (Visit www.weirdrichard.com). Over the years I have built different themed models using all sorts of toys. This instructable will describe how to create a fischertechnik 3 Way Switch.

This is a cool assembly. Pushing down on the large pulley will engage a touch sensor. Turning the pulley in either direction will engage separate touch sensors. This assembly has some nice control applications.

Disclosure: When I attended the ft fan Convention in Moershausen (Sept 2008) I ran into a fellow who had this assembly as part of his model. This is a slightly different version of it, but I want to credit Kehrblech for the model. (You can see his model here: http://www.ftcommunity.de/details.php?image_id=15397 ).

See my ft-ible about Moershausen here:

Note: The CAD looking images were generated by LDraw/MLCAD and a fischertechnik
elements library.
