How to create a Faberge Egg using fischertechnik elements!
I play with different educational manipulatives for a living. (Visit www.weirdrichard.com). Over the years I have built different themed models with many sorts of toys.
This instructable will describe how to create a fischertechnik faberge-style Egg!
Step 1: Gather elements:
You will need to gather your elements. The fischertechnik elements are available from a range of kits available from ebay, Craig's List, or fischertechnik retailers. Elements can be purchased individually from www.fischertechnik.com.
24 Angular Block 60 Degrees
12 Angular Block 30 degrees
12 Angle Girder 15
6 Angle Girder 30
24 Single Rivet 4
6 Building Block 7.5
Step 2: Egg Ends
Create the ends of the egg. Start by creating twelve pairs of Angular Block 60 Degrees. Make each end by combining six pairs into a star shaped shape. Set the ends aside.
Step 3: Frame Member
Create one of the egg's frame members by adding in order: Angle Girder 15, Angular Block 30, Angle Girder 30 Building Block 7.5, Angular Block 60, and Angle Girger 15.
Step 4: Decoration
Add some decoration to the egg by inserting four Single Rivet 4s into each rivet hole.
Step 5: Additional Frame Members
Make a five identical frame members using the same elements.
Step 6: Connect the Frame Members
Add the six frame members to the appropriate Angular Block 60s of one end assembly. Notice the orientiation of the frame members.
Step 7: Finish the Egg
Fix the upper frame members by adding the upper Angle Girder 15 to the Angular Block 60s of the free end assembly.
