Introduction: Fun Fridge Magnets From Advertisement Magnets - an Ecofriendly Craft

About: I'm a crafty mama of two with a small handmade business on the side, and hefty helping of DIY for dessert. :)

Ever wonder what to do with all those advertisement magnets you have on the fridge? You know, the ones from the real estate agents, dentists, pizza places, car dealerships....well, now you can customize them to fun images of whatever you wish! This craft is great to do with kids too.

Step 1: Gather All Your Fridge Magnets

Pretty self-explanatory: gather all the fridge magnets you don't any more.

You will also need:

white labels to print your images onto
extra white labels to cover your magnets' pre-existing images
packing tape
some fun images
scissors for cutting

Step 2: Print Out Images

Print out some images on labels. My son is really into Mr.Men right now, so that is what I used.

Step 3: Cut the Magnet

Cut the magnet to a smaller size for your image, but make sure it is bigger than the image.

Step 4: Cover the Magnet

Using a blank white label, cover the magnet. I found since my images were on a white background, the coloured words on the magnets would show through.

Step 5: Stick Your Image On

Cut the image and adhere it onto the covered magnet. It should be slightly smaller than the blank white label on the magnet.

Step 6: "laminate" the Magnet

Since I used an inkjet printer, and my magnets would be handled by my kids, I decided to "laminate" them with some packing tape. Just stick the packing tape on top of the image and press firmly all around. Or, you can lay the tape sticky side up on your desk and put the image face down on it.

Step 7: Trim the Magnet

Trim the magnet around your image, cutting to the original size of the image you printed and cut out.

Step 8: Done!

And you're done! Hello Mr.Daydream!
