Introduction: Garlic Bread Recipe

About: Hi! I'm a slightly feral mountain hermit that likes to be helpful. I do community management at Instructables & Tinkercad. 🙌 Want to hear me chat about making? Search "CLAMP Podcast" on YouTube or your favorit…

I am pretty proud of this garlic bread recipe. I had to play with it a little bit, but the flavors are spot on now! :D

I'm starting to think all sandwiches might need to be made using this garlic bread.

(brb going to go google garlic bread sandwiches)

Step 1: Ingredients:

  • one fresh baguette, sliced in half lengthwise and then into several pieces (really needs to be soft as possible!)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • two tablespoons chopped parsley
  • three cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/8 - 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

I can't stress enough that the baguette you choose needs to be a little squishy. Using day old or crusty bread results in garlic bread that is really tough to eat. (And I should know, I have done that many times.)

You'll also need a baking sheet and an oven set to 425 F.

Step 2: Melt + Spread

Melt the butter in a small bowl and stir in the rest of the ingredients. Use the back of a spoon (works the best and doesn't ruin the bread yay!) to smooth the mixture over the bread.

Step 3: Bake!

Bake the garlic bread at 425 F for 10-15 minutes.

Keep an eye on it and pull it out as soon as it starts to brown around the edges, otherwise it'll dry out too much. :D

Enjoy!

P.S. If you don't eat it all immediately, the leftovers are great as croutons on salad the next day. Or just as a snack. I might have eaten garlic bread croutons as a snack for two days after this batch. Maybe.
