Halloween Graveyard Scene, Quick and Cheap

Halloween props don't have to cost an arm and a leg. Using the materials laying around your house, or in your trash create your own cost effective halloween props.

Step 1: Materials Used

Scrap wood. ( floorboards in my case)

stainless steel wire

wire cutter

Step 2: Tombstones Made From Recycled Shipping Materials.

Use your imagination, tombstones can easily be made from materials such as cardboard, Styrofoam, and shipping materials. In the image above I spray painted a piece of shipping material that resembled a cross.

Use the wire cutter to snip small lengths of wire around 3 inches. Glue the wires to the base of the tombstones you make. These will keep the tombstones in place once you place them outside on the lawn.

Step 3: Scrap Wood Crosses

I quickly put together a number of crosses using a few lengths of leftover floorboard that I had found in the basement. Any kind of wood scraps will work, use what's available to you.

First break off a few pieces around 2-3 feet in length for the vertical section. I just broke them over my knee.

Next break off an equal number but this time slightly shorter, 1-1.5 feet

Glue the pieces perpendicular to one another. the long section vertical and the short piece horizontal, roughly 1/3 of the way down from the top of the long piece.

Once the pieces are glued together cut a few pieces of wire around 3-4 inches and glue them in pairs to the bottoms of the crosses. These will anchor the crosses into your lawn.

Step 4: Add Decorations to Enhance Your Graveyard

Covering the graveyard in spider Web, perching a bird on a cross, or placing fingers / bones reaching out of the ground are quick and easy ways to enhance your graveyard scene.
