Halloween costume. Zombie princess

you can easily make your own skin with a little time and patients.

We made the skin with glycerine, gelatine and water and a microwave.

I mixed all the items evenly, not making too much as it does dry fast. You can always put the mix back in the microwave to rewarm it if it starts to set before your done.

You don't want to put it on too hot but it should be warm.

Put it on in very thin layers, and keep adding thin layers until you come to a thickness that you can cut into with a plastic knife. (carefully of course.)

Cut out the areas you want to make look like cuts or wounds or even burns.

the rest of my face was done with makeup. and then I wore a pair of contacts to bring out the effect of my eyes.

Hope you like it. :)

Step 1: After Surgery *LOL*

Step one, let the kitten go. :)

use a mirror, friend or husband to help apply the skin.

I made the skin with one part each of gelatine, glycerine, and water.

Warm it up in the microwave for about 3 seconds.

Step 2: Before Surgery

Let the skin cool ever so slightly.

It should be hot but not too hot as to burn yourself.

Layer in thin layers. you may have to put the skin back in the microwave for a few seconds as you work if it starts to set.

You can reuse it too, just by putting it back into the microwave.

Step 3: Ready to Go

I used about 5 layers of skin so that I could rip it later to make it look like I had major wounds. I also was able to cut out my side mouth by having extra layers of skin.

Once your happy with the skin, I used makeup and acrylic paint to make myself look more gruesome.

The dress we got from a second hand store.

The total cost was approx. $20.

Never let the kitten go!

yes, sorry I will be doing another one similar this year so I will take some pics as I go, but yes it is one part each. You can buy glycerine at any grocery or walmart store, at the pharmacy counter. And the gelatin at any grocery store. I experimented a bit with the amounts. I found that if you measure out how much gelatine is in a package, and then match the other two ingredients it works best.

Mix all the ingredients together and then microwave for about 3 seconds. Stir. let cool just until it is bearable to put on your skin. I will make a better step by step this month :) thanks.

looks cool, some step by step with pics would be great. I can only assume you mean a 1 to 1 to 1 ratio of the 3 components and the results will be self evident? Where do u recommend getting the components? thanks
