hey guys, this is the wooden bokken (Japanese training sword) that I made. as you can see, the blade is not as curved as an ordinary bokken, but the almost straitness feels better in my hands. It took around about an hour to make, plus overnight glue-drying time for the guard. the overall sword consists of two pieces (blade and guard), and the tools I used were: a jig-saw, a belt sander, heavy duty sandpaper, overnight wood glue, and a drill with a half-inch spade bit. Oh, and I forgot to mention that I used a plane too.
cool. How big is it, and what wuz the plane for (im almost afraid to ask)
While I was working on it it was secured in the vice (With plastic teeth covers installed to avoid marking the wood)
