how to build a BEAM robot by simplebotics
its a dlajdfljasldfj symet!!!.png
A symet is a BEAM robot that stores electricity from a solar cell until it has enough energy to make the motor twitch. In this instructable i will show you how to build your very own BEAM symet! If you would like to see videos and read more about it then please visti my blog at, http://simplebotics.blogspot.com/ ! Thanks and hope you enjoy :) ! not at all, just get permission to use the tools and your good to go, you may even win since many kids don't know how to build robots.

hi! I seem to have a bit of a problem: when I connect the solar engine only the fLED is working. If I reverse the polarity only the engine is working. Can you help me to where the problem might be?

I found out what I did worng - I soldered the negative motor wire to the 3906 instead of the 3904. It's working now :) Thanks for the awesome instructable :)

Oh also, its a good idea if you post what color bands are on the resistor you used, i find it helps people to find the right one. Just a tip!

thanks for the advice ill be sure to use it next time on another robot instructable :)

Interesting, you capacitors connect to the base of the motor, not the negative contact of the solar panel....this orientation works? thats pretty cool.
simplebotics (author) says: Feb 4, 2011. 2:46 PM
ya, the capacitors connecting to the base of the motor idea came from a beam bot book called, "junkbots, bug bots, and bots on wheels" and later on this week i will make an instructable on how to build a BEAM bicore one motor walker. thanks for commenting :) !

I would really like to see the BEAM bicore one motor walker, I'm looking forward to seeing that :)
