This having been said, il will explain you how to keep wine.
The main ennemies of wine are :
- temperature amplitude.
To keep you wine, you will need :
- food quality aluminium foil.
- food quality plastic foil.
- classical pencil (no marker)
Step 2: Put the aluminium foil
All parts should be covered to prevent the light to alter the wine.
Step 3: Put the label and plastic foil
The plastic foil will prevent the dampness to alter the cork.
Step 4: Bury for several years
Remenber the ennemy is not temperature but temperature amplitude, but your wine will keep less if very hot.
Temperature under 4° C will kill the wine.
Step 5: Drink
Wine probably came for egypt then took two routes :
- Mesopotamy, caucase and back to western europe
- Greece, Italy, Spain, France, rest of the world.
French and Italian wine are standards but there are also excellent wine in america :
- red chile
- white californian (Carl Sassenrath the inventor of Rebol has a vineyard)
Remenber the light is the ennemy so in a normal shop buy a wine that has no more than 3 years.
Buy by 6 bottles an open to taste depending of the classification :
SAUTERNES : 1 bottle every 4 years.
RED BORDEAUX : 1 bottle every 2 years.
BURGUNDY : 1 bottle every years.
BEAUJOLAIS : 1 bottle every 6 months.
If there is no degradation of taste on the second bottle you can skip one more period and so one.
You can keep SAUTERNES more than 30 years.
It's a good investment too : bought this one in 1982 for 18 francs (around 4$)
now in 2008 franc has disapperead but the same wine cost nearly 47 ⬠(around 70$)
