how to make a fingerboard (my style)

Step 2 Cut the veneers

cut 3 veneers with the grains going vertical
2 veneers with the grains going horizontal
then cut it according to the template given

 you can get it at hobby lobby if you have them, and michels if you have them, the only sell birch veneers though

umm, just a question but, how thick do they have to be and what wood did u use?
