I heard you can replace alka seltzer tablets with salt. I know this is true but which one is better to use? I really need my answer fast because I have a science fair project coming up. Thank you!

Would baking soda and vinegar last longer than alka seltzer?

I think it would

If someone combined this Instructable with this one : http://www.instructables.com/id/Cool-Cloud-Lamp!/

then you've got yourself a lava lamp. ;D

a strong light bulb might give off enough heat so that it bubbles, like a real lava lamp.

if it doesn't it'll still look better being lit up instead of just in a bottle. ;D

don't hope on it too much guys...the way i see it.it's a one time lava lamp.when all Alka-Seltzers are dissolved.there won't be any movement anymore.real lava lamps make use of the heat from the lamp to move those blobs around.

This obviously looks like a good project, but the instructable, sadly, is not very in depth. I know it has potential, so please add some more pictures and better instructions and republish please. =]

Please finish this instructable! It's a good idea, but the description of the process is overly vague and it desperately needs photos/illiustrations.
