How to Make a Paper Funnel

Learning how to make a paper funnel is something everyone should do! There are many ways to make a paper funnel, but this is my chosen method because they always turn out right.

This is a super easy hack that can get you out of tons of tricky situations including transferring glitter with very little mess, getting sugar into bottles with small mouths, transferring dry ingredients with ease, etc.

You don't even need to use a square sheet of paper, rectangles work just fine! To make a large funnel, use a standard sheet of printer paper. For a medium funnel, use half a sheet of printer paper. For small funnels, fold a sheet of printer paper twice so you end up with four rectangles and cut those apart and use separately - that's what I'm using here.

Once you have a rectangle of paper, follow these steps:

1. fold the paper in half and then in half again, so you have creases in the middle both vertically and horizontally
2. keep it folded like this, and cut off the edges by going in a curve from corner to corner
3. flatten/completely open up the oval you've just made and cut out 1/4 of the oval, following the creased lines.
4. overlap the two straight edges you just made and pull the outside edge toward you until you get the cone shape you want
5. put a piece of tape on the outside of the cone to secure it
6. clip off the tip!

And there you are - now you know how to make a paper funnel!

For use with liquids: You can also make these funnels from wax paper and parchment paper to use with liquids in small amounts! They aren't water proof, but they're definitely water resistant. :) For a super water proof option, fill a ziploc bag with the liquid and set it in a funnel with a corner of the bag hanging out of the bottom of the funnel. You can then clip the corner of the bag to let the liquid pass through without spills!
