This instructable will show you how to make a speargun out of a regular clicking pen...very powerful, effective, and fun!

The best uses for this pen gun would be to make loud noises in class by shooting it at a filing cabinet, as well as shooting the insides of the pen into the textured ceilings that are very common in schools and offices.

WARNING:DO NOT FIRE THIS AT PEOPLE, IT IS VERY POWERFUL!

You will need:

(1)click pen(nothing fancy)
(1)thick rubber band
(1)rubberband(thin or thick, it doesn't matter)
scissors or wire cutters

FIRST: Dismantle the click pen.Make sure you take off both ends,so just the plastic tube is left... that is your barrel.

This was fun to make. I shot it into the ceiling @ school and all my friends want one. I changed the design a bit but it still works.

TIP: you might want to tape or plug up the end that doesn't write, so if it gets lost, ink won't leak all over everything.

WOW I WOULD HAVE NEVER COME UP WITH THIS IN MY ENTIRE LIFE!!! YOU ARE SO CREATIVE PLEASE COME UP WITH MORE THINGS THAT NOONE WILL EVER THINK OF HOW DID YOU THINK OF THIS??

JUST A WARNING EVERYONE: If you're shooting at the ceiling, beware of sprinklers.. A guy in my grade 8 class hit one last year.. Wasn't pretty. Black liquid came out of it and the entire school was evacuated.. Just if you're aiming for a sprinkler beware of the consequences.

btw, BBQ sticks are SUPER DUPER powerful.

i suggest taking the finger of a rubber glove and putting it over the hole then rubber banding it so that it stays. But yours seems pretty strong O.o!

I used a Faber Castell connect a pen though they actually textas and i used dressmaking pins + electrical tape around shish kebab skewers and it can pierce :- dry wall, cans (full+empty) and break glass. I'm also working on a flaming variety of ammo too with 2 motheds already working >:)

airsoftateam says: Feb 28, 2009. 8:48 PM
I did this and I shot an airsoft bb at the floor and it bounced up and hit a filing cabinet during study hall. Then I threw it at my friend so I wouldn't get caught, he got caught and it was funny to see the teacher trying to ask him how he got this and why he did it and he was confused and just cried and shaked the whole time.

I used wooden shiskabob sticks for this and they go flying.
~BenDover~ says: May 25, 2008. 7:14 PM
I use metal bb's, just attach the inner ink pen to the rubber band and place the bb into the berrel. Let go and watch the bb shoot across the room!

Nice tutorial, I used Electrical tape instead of a second elastic band... I got mine to shoot a standard BIC biro into the side of my wooden shed. Also make sure you don't fire the biro when the nib is not inside the barrel... It hurts and really does make your fingers bleed...
EnigmaMax says: Jul 14, 2008. 10:25 AM
use duct tape if you only have one rubber band. works good.
the antichrist (author) says: May 31, 2008. 9:50 AM
If you like this, you should rate it +1
the antichrist (author) says: May 27, 2008. 12:08 PM
yeah the one I made sticks into the wall no problem.

If you think this is cool, you should check out my other Instructable:

Its pretty cool!

these things work suprisingly well, i made one a couple of years ago and used 2 pen tubes that fitted into eachother and the grip from one to attach 2 rubber bands to it. shot a metal ink refil into a tree, into my friends mole (hard to stifle screams in biology lessons) and into a guys stomach cos he thought he could 'take it'...in all 3 cases it stuck in and had to be pulled out!
the antichrist (author) says: May 26, 2008. 10:38 AM
yeah i thought of this in like 5th grade and i thought it was pretty cool. Another good thing about this is that you can make it with basically just a pen and 2 rubber bands, which you can pilfer from the teacher.
Clayton H. says: May 25, 2008. 6:50 AM
you can probly use bamboo skewers as a projectile.
