This thing good for doing stunts? From my experience having low bars causes you to fly over the 'bars when trying to jump even small ramps, but that could just be me ;-)

There really should not be any performance claims in this one... yeah its cool looking - but that is all. The unmodified version can also go downhill etc. etc. etc. I don't know about anyone else... but I can crouch down on an unmodified scooter without any issues :P Score: B --- unique look, but the performance claims prevented the A.

actually stock its more wobbally so in racing you are not only verry areodynamic but you can also stay alot more steady at higher speeds (witch allows you to fly down the hill faster)

says:
again no... the original version is more SENSITIVE... if its wobbly, that's not its fault - that is operator trouble -- I have never had any trouble on these things, even downhill. As you move your handle from the rotating axis (increase in moment arm), you decrease the sensitivity - so, you need a greater range of motion to turn the same distance. As far as aero is concerned... you're presenting a larger frontal area by having your arms further apart. So this claim is also false. Now a B- for arguing... just leave it as it is, a aesthetically pleasing scooter hack.

You really think having your arms a foot apart cancels the aerodynamic benefits of crouching down to a third of your height? Maybe if you had some drag chutes tied to your arms... Anyway, you can't go around claiming that things are false just because you think they are. from my personal experience, I'd say there would be a noticeable difference, but I don't have a wind tunnel or one of these scooters, so I don't know for sure. As for the speed wobble, if he's made it easier to avoid the "operator trouble," hasn't he succeeded in what he was trying to do? Calling it operator trouble is like saying if you have an uncomfortable chair, you have butt trouble. I'm pretty sure it's been scientifically proven that if you're nicer, you'll live longer. In retrospect: A. you do have like, a million Instructables, i have none... B. I might just need a nap C. the scooter might actually suck. D. Should I even bother posting this? F. I'm going to bed... (hehe, butt trouble)

congratulations for being the next response that is out of context - read the first post of the thread:

However you want to argue it - I really couldn't care less - you're claiming personal experience, but in the same sentence say you don't have one and don't know for sure:
from my personal experience, I'd say there would be a noticeable difference, but I don't have a wind tunnel or one of these scooters, so I don't know for sure.
Whatever - on a similar note, I do have access to a wind tunnel, modeling and cfd packages etc. - but even then, I don't care enough to test as I've moved on to bigger, better things ;)
As for the wobbly bits - lacking the fine motor skills for short handlebars is not the fault of the machine. The long handlebars require less input torque, but require more work - this allows finer adjustment with less force. This is why bicycle handlebars are so wide (except for the fixie hipsters with super short, cut bars :P).
A: Tim Anderson has way more - neither of us have anything near "like a million"
B: I too enjoy naps
C: Iono, I still think it's a cool looking hack - bonus points for being human powered
D: Naw, it probably wasn't worth it - you replied to a comment posted over 2 years ago
F: g'night

Okay, let me try to end this.
You will get a performance boost out of this mod, as a large amount of wind resistance will be cut off. But not only can you achieve this by shortening the handlebar thingy, but the scooter will become very unstable. One of my friends tried to go down a steep hill in "baby mode" but it didn't end too well for him. Overall, it does look cool but any hill over 30 degrees might be dangerous. It does look cool, though.
Now,
A.Plasmasma might not win the most instructables, but he is in almost every group available.
B.I have a blanket with me right now.
C.I wouldn't ride it, but I would show it off.
D.I dont really care what I'm replying to, I just like posting comments

Not to be another Negative Nancy, but if you just lower the extendable bar on a "stock" scooter, it provides the same low-rider-high-speed-downhill-disaster-machine effect...but again, just me...

The "clip thing" you mention is called a "stem". It is technically a clamp and nothing to do with a clip. It helps everyone if the same technical language is used (excepting regional variations). Carry on messing with things:]

you should try adding something to make the body a bit longer so you can kneel down on one leg. oooo better yet attaching a stage 4 rocket would be awesome on this! Call me dumb but id try it. Hell YES!
Can you post picture or, even better, a video of someone riding it?

yes ummm i just uploaded it (its kinda dark but i hope to get a better movie soon hey wait heres a cool idea why dont you all go and make one then develop your own unique riding style and post videos so we can all see
Probably because we still don't quite get the point of doing it or how you ride it. At least I don't. If you want to sell the idea, then make a cool video. If at all possible shoot it during the day and get someone to hold the camera to provide a tracking shot of you going by.

you also lower your center of gravity by crouching down so you would probably go a little faster :)

Why? I used to love my T-Bars years ago when I kicked much butt with my razor. They were great for doing over-the-handlebar stunts. My specialty was sweeping a leg over the bars while riding - no one else could do that! Ahhh, I loved my scootering days.
