Introduction: How to Make a Very Powerful Pvc Bow

This is a really!!! powerful bow made fron 1/2 in. pvc pipe. you can shoot a arrow extremely far and with alot of power.

Step 1: Materials

The materials you will need are of the following:

3 1/2 feet of 1/2 inch pvc pipe (87 cents at lowes)
a rool of duct tape (2 dollars at wal-mart)
Kite string or nylon string (i had this in my attic)
scissors
spray paint (opional but awsome looking)
hack saw (not pictured)

the hack was to cut the pipe because i got 5 feet of 1/2 inch.

Step 2: Making the Slits

To make the slits in your pipe you will use your hack saw to cut a slit on 1 side at each of the 2 ends like in the photo.

(dont make the slit too long but lust enough to hold the string)

Also make the slit really thin or the string will fall out.

Step 3: Preparing the String

To prepare the string in this step you will take your kite string and cut 3 pieces about 4 or five inches shorter than your bow.

Next you take the string and tie one end together. (in pic.2)
When your done it should look like pic. 3.

Repeat this step on the other side.

Step 4: Attach String to the Bow

this is the hard part. Now you take one end of the string and poke it into your slit. (like pic. 1) Shove it down and pull it tight like in pic 2. Pic 3 is a view from the end. the knot is inside the slit and the string is outside.

Here is the challenge. You take the attached side and put it on the ground. With one hand you bend the bow toward the ground a little.Just enough to insert the other knot into the slit.

Step 5: Test Your Awsome Bow

After you get done inserting your string into the slits, pull the back a little and let it go. you can shoot pratice arrows easily over a big pond.

have fun.

Step 6: Modifications

you can probably tell that duct tape makes a good handle. if you take a couple long pices of duct tape and tear then in half, put then around the handle. it makes a perfect arrow guid and increasses persision.

(please commet other modicifactions.)
