Introduction: IPod-car Integration

ok, I havent seen an ipod-car integration thing on instructables like what i was lookin for, and i happen to be workin on somethin like it, so, ill give it a shot

this is an on the go kinda thing......so, it isnt finished just yet
and improvements n stuff like that are welcome

Step 1: Get the Stuffs

for this your gonna need a few things....
---
dremel is always nice, or a drill with some dremel bits
a car that you are willing to go into the dash and cut some stuff up
an ipod of your choice
a car inverter
your gonna need an ipod dock thing
screw driver
soldering skills
soldering iron and solder
audio cabes
stereo with aux input
wire, buttons
thats all i can think of for now...

Step 2: Opening the Dock.....

This shouldnt be too hard to firgure out
first, look for some screws to remove, i had some obvious screw holes and then some under the feet
I had to use some brute force to seperate the LCD from the dock because i couldnt find any other screw holes
after that, you can remove the speakers, since we wont be using those things anymore
Mine had an removable LCD, and i thought it could operate without it, but looks like i have to keep the lcd for it to work.......but that can be hidden or shown when we mount this.

so, once you are done with that, you should have somethin like this:::::

Step 3: Location, Location, Location

now, find where you are gonna put this
you want it in your dash?
you want it in the center console?
you want it......somewhere else
pick a spot that has enough room for it and mark it with somethin
and, this is as far as i ve gotten......
so, ill do more when i get more done

**Feel free to comment and suggest future ideas for this like where to put it, and what works best for wrapping up the circuit boards to prevent short-circuiting, pretty much anything helpful**
