It holds four cans, and doesn't keep them refrigerated... practical if you drink a warm soda once a year.

No knex soda machine can refrigerate soda.  Its impossible unless you used other materials.

That's just like saying "use a real gun" or "use a real ipod dock" or "use a real ferris wheel" instead of the knex version.  Sure its better, but there's no real fun to it.  Half the fun in knex comes from making stuff and the other half is seeing it work great.

Both better options than knex if you plan on having something do what it was meant to.  And there is plenty of fun in "real" things, if you've never been to a range, I'll tell you from experience: real guns are far more fun to shoot than knex guns.  Real ferris wheels are far more fun than micro-scale knex ones, and I'm sure ipod docks can be made out of better materials than knex.

If you are so adamant in your anti-knex sentiments, then I fail to understand what brought you to this page in the first place. Unless, of course, you simply enjoy mocking other people's hobbies and creations.

I think half the fun in knexing is BUILDING it, which is something you can't do with real stuff, unless you homemake it, which would be very impractical with the examples listed above.  So I find it twice as fun as the real life equivalent.

amen. if i build a sweet huge knex gun off this site and i spend all morning making it an then id doesnt shoot to me its okay and i stil give a decent rating. i agree on the fect that a large part of the fun is building

anyways, building is incredibly fun. nothing is more satisfying than building something and then seeing it work correctly
