mini ship in a mini bottle

Step 1 Materials

Here are the materials you will need in order to tackle this project.

1- Regular sized boat
1- HUGE bottle for the boat to fit in
1- Shrink ray or other similar device

What? You don't have a shrink ray you say? Well, um okay, guess we are gonna do this the hard way then... you will need:

1- Mini Tabasco bottle, I found mine in an MRE.
1- small wooden dowel or other similar object *
1- corn bristle broom
Cloth tape (the color you want the sails to be)
White glue
Fast acting super glue
Dremel with thin cut off wheel
Sandpaper
X-acto or other similar hobby knife
5in or longer piece of stiff wire. (I found a roll of galvanized wire for a couple bucks at home depot that I use for various projects)

* This will be the hull of the ship. I used a wooden handled paint brush. You can use whatever floats your fancy... Floats? Ha! I crack myself up!

would toothpicks also work for the masts? cause idk if i have a corn bristle broom?

I would think that the toothpick would be too big. The bristle is really thin (maybe a third or half the size of a toothpick) However im not too sure if it would work or not, try it! The key to the masts is that they stay together in one piece when broken.

you need to poke holes in the lid so it cans breathe., yes.?

Sure! if for any reason you need it to breathe, you could poke holes in the lid, or just take it off from time to time.

Very cool! It looks like you uploaded all of your pictures in one shot, while writing your introduction. A smart technique (and better than when we had to do each one individually!), but it means you've got all 19 images on that intro step. You probably want to delete all but the one showing the finished ship.
