here is a way to make a special spray to keep away monsters and bad dreams. (p.s. this is mostly for little preschoolers)

Step 1: 1.

1. find an empty spray bottle. I like to use the pump kind because it is easier to refill.

This is so funny because I did this with my son, and I used Mountain Fresh spray from the bathroom, and it worked! "Keeps monsters away for 24 hours with a Mountain Fresh scent!"

lol

this is a cute idea 1 sugestion instead of perfume use febreze even the odorless version has a scent when first sprayed and it evaporates cleanly (plus it removes funk sort of a bonus)

Cute idea but enforces the idea that monster DO actually exist.

But that is not really a bad thing to do. I have learned that- in the mind of the children- monsters just exist, and to keep insisting as a parent that they don't only confuses them cuz- their feelings towards 'monsters' are real- so, how can they not exist right? Of course- we will not 'push' the concept of 'monsters' any further then needed. :)

My wife used this on our 3 children, 5 grandchildren and numerous neighborhood kids. She used anything that was non-toxic and pleasant smelling. She would put kids stickers on the bottles. (I think she used larger bottles) We were able to take our kids to watch some of the filming of Day of the Dead in the late 80's. They were able to watch the actors go through make-up from beginning to end. They retired their bottles that evening. If I had a bottle of this when I was a kid, I might have slept better. My mom could never convince me that a monster wasn't under my bed. I had to outgrow it.

how all I'm suggesting is using something that is noticeable in the room but not harmful

Sorry, was commenting on the idea of "monster spray" in general, not on your specific suggestion of using febreeze.

As a small note can you tell people not to spray that near me or any other killerjackalopes... Nice 'ible, clever answer to the looking under the bed scenarios...
