Step 3 Grind moss

Add the moss slowly into a coffee grinder, or blender if you have one. Grind it slowly, because there will be some small rocks that may damage the blender blade or your eye.

i'm thinking mortar and pestle might be safer and also not ruin my grinder.

mortar and pestle won't work, you're not so much grinding it as cutting it up/blending it.
