LOL!! I used to make these in the 1980's when I was around 10 or 11!! My neighbor & I made tons of them using different types of nails & nail configurations. I remember finding some horseshoe nails that worked really well. Can really hurt someone or yourself throwing stuff like this around so anyone planning on doing it be really careful.

if you cant work metal like a man dont make ninja stars. thats just how it has to be.
Dec 17, 2011. 5:13 PMThe Metal One says:
improper metalwork is a shame upon you, your family, and your dog. if you cant do something right, dont do it...is that satisfactory to you?

Good question. It always bugs me when people "can't be bothered" to use capitlization. And why is it "expected" of "teens" to ignore all spelling rules? I'm 14, I've never skipped using capitlization.
P.S. Thanks for posting this, it really jumpstarted my desire to build things, most of them deadly in shape, way, and form .

blegh, there are better ones around here, if your weapon is being held together by ducktape, you will be laughed at

well, this one is much simpler than most. if you were going into battle in like, 20 minutes, i doubt you would have time to cut metal, and and sand  it. you could make a good number of these in that time, and kick some butt.

Jun 18, 2009. 12:33 PMSpeedmite says:
They actually sometimes just give em away for free.
Jun 18, 2009. 2:13 PMDrWeird117 says:
Oh, cool.
Jun 19, 2009. 2:13 PMSpeedmite says:
It is very cool. They also give away chunks of rail at cheap prices.
Jun 19, 2009. 3:05 PMDrWeird117 says:
Sweet! I'll have to check it out.
Jun 19, 2009. 6:20 PMSpeedmite says:
Well thats what I heard at least. It would probably be at a railway depot. They are probably begging for company....and people to take all the old rails stuff. I also heard that you can get the railway ties cheap too. Thats why some places use em as those parking lot hump/curbs thingies that you cant drive over to get to the spot on the other side.and boy scout camps use a lot of them.
Jun 19, 2009. 7:07 PMDrWeird117 says:
Huh. Cool... My neighbor uses them as driveway edges.
Jun 20, 2009. 8:47 AMSpeedmite says:
Never thought of that. That works too. I like that idea actually.
Jun 20, 2009. 11:33 AMDrWeird117 says:
Home Depot sells the ties.
Jun 21, 2009. 8:53 AMSpeedmite says:
Really?
Jun 21, 2009. 9:09 AMDrWeird117 says:
Yeah!
Aug 19, 2009. 7:07 PM_-WarCry-_ says:
these work great especially with a hevier weight. but i keep losing them. i also used small bike gears for ninja stars/ shrukiens. they are harder to throw but stick farther in the wood. 5/5 *
Jun 18, 2007. 2:15 PMjoemonkey says:
cool, but is there a way to improve strength and stability? it looks iffy.
Sep 1, 2007. 12:30 PMKendallkip says:
its not. I made one and it stuck in a tree and stayed intact
Aug 23, 2008. 1:03 PMKendallkip says:
and it was one strong tree!
Jun 20, 2009. 8:51 AMSpeedmite says:
No it wasn't!!!!
Feb 4, 2008. 11:34 PMBMXHEX says:
An even easier way to make one of these is to solder them together. And FYI shurikens were never made to be deadly they were made to injure a ninjas enemy. but other than that it looks petty good.
Jun 18, 2009. 12:38 PMSpeedmite says:
And rusty stars are deadly..... So if they went deadly, they must be baby ninja toys!!!
Jun 18, 2009. 12:39 PMSpeedmite says:
Meant weren't, not went. Typo.
