sorry about the late reply.
You cant cut the dart there because it is harder to keep the pencil thingy in.
When you do as it says in the instructions it make the dart as long as the magazine so it shoots propperly

You need that extra bit of foam inside the orange-plastic bit, yeah I can see that.
