this is a really cool tripwire activated non-pyrotechnic (thus producing no dangerous emissions from fireworks) booby trap using the potential energy from a spring, AKA a mouse trap. it's pretty cool, and gets a real even spread of about 5-10 feet in front of the trap, depending on the type of ammunition.
(I would recommend airsoft bb's.

you could also put a nail in each corner and then stab it into the ground(unless you are in a building!)
manevar in reply to ivel_48Feb 7, 2012. 7:28 AM

You do know you put up 2 IDENTICAL Instructables with different titles?
daelans says: Aug 17, 2009. 5:36 PM
i have an idea for a remote for this. take a zipzap (if you got one of those relics left) and wrap the fishing line around one of the tires, then when you want to trip it, try to drive forward, then it winds up the line and boom. but to anchor the zipzap is another problem, take the zipzap and tape or tie or rubber band it upside down to something heavy like a brik or a full altoid tin, full of something not altoids.
BillyTheGoat in reply to daelansSep 6, 2009. 2:40 PM
you could pull off the wheels and tie it around the axel.
daelans in reply to BillyTheGoatSep 15, 2009. 11:46 AM
well, i take it you havent used a zipzap. the axel dissapears into the side of the car and there like an inch long so theres like no room to tie it, plus the rubber of the tire will grip better.
tomcat955 says: Mar 25, 2009. 1:59 PM
thats a tripmine not a land mine land mines you step on
daelans in reply to tomcat955Aug 17, 2009. 5:29 PM
hahaha lolz, you think if you step on this it wont splode?
Cristian1337 in reply to daelansSep 20, 2009. 12:09 PM
I'm guessing you have never stepped on a mousetrap. If you step on it, you will be holding down the bars down and it wont trip. You will also probobly realized you stepped on it and disengage it
bennor3 says: Jul 14, 2009. 7:16 PM

I made one very similar to this. I didn't use this guide, but It is close.
oki_the_sniper says: Apr 9, 2009. 7:34 PM
you can paint it with flat or camo color to increase it's effectiveness
vernors says: Feb 6, 2009. 10:56 AM
cool. can you add maare detailand/or pictures on how to load it.
use606 in reply to vernorsFeb 17, 2009. 6:51 PM
Ive been using these for years and it works better if you make a pouch out off tape. but ive designed a realy good grenade coming soon.
the mechanical engineer (author) in reply to vernorsFeb 9, 2009. 6:00 AM
i can try. just load it like a regular mouse trap and pour bb's in the box thingy.
jakee117 says: Feb 3, 2009. 12:50 PM
that is a good idea!
the mechanical engineer (author) in reply to jakee117Feb 3, 2009. 6:36 PM
