Introduction: Paper Towel Hanger

build a paper towel holder that can be hung practically anywhere without installing with screws or nails.

Step 1: Gather Materials and Eyeball Bends

gather up your materials.

- one roll of paper towels
- one hanger
- one pair of pliers (or you favorite multi tool)

hold the hanger over the roll of towels eyeballing where the bends are to be made. you'll want the first pair of bends (the shoulders) to be approximately the width of the roll.

Step 2: Snip and Bend

snip the bottom of the hanger. ~2/3 of the way over on either side, your choice. I suppose this would make the difference between a left handed and right handed version of this project. you'll want to make this snip first in order to avoid the torquing associated with the bending.

bend away, forming a frame around the paper towel roll. provide enough room for the roll to spin freely.

Step 3: Bend, Bend, and Bend Some More

make a hook on the short end. make a second hook of the long end that is oriented perpendicular to the short hook.

Step 4: Snip and Install

snip off the excess hanger from the hooks on the short and long ends. avoid snipping to short as the hanger can come unhooked when pulling the next paper towel from the roll.

place the long hook through the roll and connect the short hook up to the long inside the paper towel roll.

you are now done. you've got a simple paper towel roll hanger that can be placed just about anywhere you need one and make use of an old wire hanger.
