Step 23Stepper control - with IR enhancement!
A tiny Electronic Gold Mine bi-polar stepper draws ~20mA unloaded, and can be directly controlled from 4 PICAXE output pins. This can be extremely educational for learners wanting stepper insights, but daunted by "normal" stepper setups. For perhaps the simplest stepper controller going, use a Sony style IR remote (when sensed at PICAXE Pin 3). Stepper reversal & all manner of entrancing motor sequences can then be rustled up!
