Rocking Little Scooter : 16 Steps (with Pictures)

I'm making this for my grandson for Christmas. I had seen one for sale on line this one looks pretty close.It is made from 1 2x18 -8 foot long paint and a few wood screws

I used a bandsaw and other dangerous power tools be careful
I have a dust collector in my shop with or without still wear a dust mask
all ways wear eye protection

With the one 2x12 and paint I built two of them for less than $30.00
My grandchildren loved them

I cut out all the parts from the 2x 12 i ran them through the planer to tighten up the edges also the front and fenders I thined down to one inch . I just thought they would take away from the 2x4 look of it. This is not a must

the rockers would have to be trued up together so the ride would not be too realistic.
so i clamped them together used a couple of rasp to match them.

Step 7:

dry all the parts clean up rough areas. then I painted all the parts before glueing the together.

Step 8:

I used 1 1/4 #12 wood screws to put everything together aslso i glued all the parts. you can see the 1' dowel for the handle bar. all the screws where counter sunk and covered with a dowle .
