I like this I would want to design something that would use the ground for support and would expand when you stop. The top of this can be as large as the solar panels you would need you face South USA and have all the power you need. Get a small refrigerator/freezer have an antifreeze loop fan coil system to remove heat from your camp to sleep in any weather and live would be very good. A Prius with a trailer hitch and a platform could carry all the additional stuff even a generator for when no sun is out. If you really wanted to do something find a way to tie in to the Prius batteries and you got something then. MARK MY WORDS somebody is going to use hybrid to convert into a very efficient camper and the world will never be the same. a 40 mpg camper for 2 just what the world needs.

I can see a roof top that sits on frame that holds the poles to lift the topper off the car and lowers to the ground. Slide the car under attach and go. The rear just attach the platform load with gear and go. When you get to site you can drop your camp and drive the car off just like a camper trailer. Only issue would be batteries if you did not have batteries for your camper. If that is a issue might rather rent a campsite or buy $200 worth of batteries. All depending on how much you use. If done right this should be a plug in mod for the car but IDK how to toggle the software and plug in the solar panels. If done right it could stay with the car and provide energy to the car when parked? One could drive set up to work have panels stay at work and when you returned your car would have shade park and solar recharging abilities. A place to sleep too if work went over and going home would be just too exhausting?

Thanks for posting this.
question:
I did a google search for "rubberized roofing material" (and "..fabric" and "..cloth") but I am not sure that I am finding the same material that you have used.

Can you share a brand or a link or something that can help me find this material.

Thank you
