simple electronic ignitor

simple ignitor to light off fireworks or explosives or just whatever. this project assumes that you know how to wire things together.

Step 1: Crap you need

you will need the following for this project

1 toggle switch
1 push switch
1 old speaker/headphone cord (male)
1 9v battery
1 9v battery adapter plug in thingy
A small box to put it together in
alligator clips
headphone/speaker female plugin thingy
led if you want
some short pieces of wire
electrical tape

Iv said in other instructables, but if you can't find nichrome wire, use pieces of thin steel wool. It works GREAT. wrap a small amount of steel wool around a firework fuse and attach it to a 6V battery, or 9V or experiment with others. IT works really really good... in fact i almost burned my friends carpet with it.

yes i just made one and because my mum doesnt like me messing with fire i detonate things out of my bedroom window works good buut steel wool is better

Yes i have in fact made one--i made a 12 switched igniter box running off of 12 volts. It has an indicator LED that tells you that its armed, and then the 12 push button switches. Cost me only about $40 for it all--not half bad! Haven't tried it yet! Hope it works...

for the LEDs what kind did u use and did u use resistors so that they don't blow, and if so can i use a 9v? PLZ AWNSER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hellow i did something similar but my 9v baterry gets hot and it stop working anyone knows whats the problem? im using a duracell baterry and some wool wire . thnaks for helping

To heat it up it short circuits the battery. This will make it really really hot then it will go flat so it cools and and stops working.

it is qutie funny that you have this instructable, about a week ago i made the same thing but is wireless using radio frequencies. i can make it go up to 200m with my special antennas. i can make and instructable for it if you want. i like to make big explosions.

also if you dont have steel wool or nicrome use .7 mm or .9 mm mechanical pencil led and wrap the fuse around the center of the lead
