A couple of things wrong here:
  • The title should be capitalised
  • "Here are a few easy to find materials" doesn't explain why you would want them, "You will need" is a better alternative
  • You spelt stereo wrong in the introduction
You might also want to note that, on most headphones (especially earbuds), the individual copper wires are insulated with a kind of, (correct me someone if I'm wrong) I believe, wax or resin coating that needs to be melted off.

you are correct many types of wires are resin coated

No..... Spelled is the word you are looking for.....

Both are acceptable.

Spelt is not a word according to the Oxford English dictionary... Spelt is also considered an error on spell check.

http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/spelt#Etymology_1
http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/spelt%5B2%5D
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/spelt
and Webster's English Dictionary lists both spelt and spelled as past tense and past participles of spell

Never heard of any of those site.

Is it possible you are in America? "spelt" is used much less in American English (where spelled is a more accepted alternative), whereas in languages more closely related to British English (Australia, etc) "spelt" is more prevalent than in America.
Jul 5, 2009. 9:08 PMBartboy says:
I AM NOT AMERICAN! I am English.....

i think its the same thing but english people are more formal and americans are casual.

Then you should understand that both "spelt" and "spelled" are acceptable an interchangeable words!
The Collins Compact English Dictionary lists it, and according to the online edition of the Compact Oxford English Dictionary spelt is a word.

PS. I am sorry if I have offended you by calling you American, your profile is a bit ambiguous.

the ipod wont have enough power to power the speakers as an ipods output power is only like 1/4 of a watt. this is not enough to power home audio speakers without an amplifier. and IT MAY DAMAGE YOUR IPOD. maybe it would be better to advise adding a small 5 to 10 watt audio amp which are available cheaply off ebay ectera.

I'm sorry, but "If it doesn't work keep playing with it." really isn't very helpful in an instructable.
