Okay so now all that's left is mixing together the two ingredients. The basic ratio of Sugar to KNO3 is 1 to 2, so 1/2 cup of sugar means 1 cup of KNO3. After you have measured this out pour it into the baggie, zip it up, and shake it until you feel it is evenly distributed.

Actually the best ratios for smoke bombs range between 3:2 (9:6) and 5:3 (10:6). It will work at a wide variety of concentrations though. The higher the sugar content the longer the burn time but the harder it will be to start. You can also color the smoke by adding certain types of dye and change the color of the flame by adding metal salts. Although, of course, the more goes into it the more careful you should be about inhaling the smoke as some metal salts and dyes are toxic.
