i found two bikes poking out of a skip, it took $20 to get them both into working order. It's amazing the free stuff you can find. Are you wearing a tie on your head?

Can something like this be made with a small 4-stroke engine or does it have to be 2-stroke because of size and weight?

What kind of a welding stup did you use? I'm looking to buy a welder so I can do small stuff like bike frames, and my girlfriend can use it for art and whatnot.

Naa don't get a MIG, they're crap for hobby use, your pretty much limited to steel and a couple select types of aluminum. TIG is very good for small precise hobby use and it can do virtually every metal you can think of. Trust me when I say you will find yourself with some kind of metal you really wish you could weld but can't with a MIG. TIG is sooooo much better in the long run.

BUT tig cost like 900 compaired to mig that ranges from 125 andup

I've got a small $200 130 Clarke en MIG welder from eBay, and I love it! If you're getting any welder, I HIGHLY suggest a mig for the inexperienced.

And do I need a 220V outlet? Not sure I've got one in an easy to use place..
Nov 7, 2007. 12:23 PMT3h_Muffinator says:
Nope, you don't need a 220, mine runs off off std. 120.

This is inspiring. I have three wheelchairs that i have accumulated and need a project for them. Thank you!

lol, you had the engine running too lean, that's why it exploded. this applies to all 2 stroke motors, if it runs too lean, it will get really really powerful, and inevitably will blow up. I was riding in a boat 2 years ago, and the 15 horse outboard motor was too lean. the driver gave it some real gas, and we took off flying as fast as the piston that shot out the back of the motor. the flywheel got pinched , and turned into a thick aluminum taco. you MUST be careful when tuning 2 strokes! infact, I do believe you have inspired me to make an instructable on how to properly tun a 2 stroke! thanks, great work despite the mishap!

I'd love to see such an instructable! Please, by all means, make one! It'd be great, as I'm trying to build my little brother a go-kart for christmas.

yeah, I have a chainsaw that needs tuning. life is crazy as all hell right now, perhaps in a week or so I'll get started on it.
Nov 4, 2007. 11:27 PMCameronSS says:
Brakes! You must upgrade the bakes to that contraption if you are riding at 50 mph.
Also, how did you measure 50mph? Do you have a speedometer on the trike (misspelled title, btw), or did you pace it with a car, or are you just guessing?
