this is my method of making the cones for darts, it requires no trimming of the cones (if done right) is thick and rigid. they will last a good long time, unfortunately, it is the most time consuming and tedious part of the dart making process.

first, you take a sheet of your all purpose paper, your pencil and compass. i have already determined that the arms need to be 2.7 centimeters apart to make the perfect fitting cone for 1/2 inch copper pipe. knowing this, set your tool, and start making as many circles as you can fit onto the paper.

next you need to divide the circles into quarters, they have to be equal, or the dart will not fit properly and you will need to trim each one.

now cut out the circles and cut them in half along one of the lines you drew on them. this will leave you with a bunch of half circles with a line going from the center of the flat side, to the center of the circumference.

now coat one side of the semi circle with the glue stick.and fold as the diagram shows so you end up with a half curled cone stopping at the center line, now finish wrapping it with the glued side.

use needle nosed pliers to hold the glued bit down for about a minute. so it can hold on its own till the glue dries.

repeat until all your cones are done.

you have finally completed the cones, wasn't that fun?

now its time to add the business end, so to speak.
