This is a unique way to make a wood bowl. All you need is a grinder (sanding disc), an impact drill, a screw, a vise, and a piece of wood. Jigs are not necessary!! Very easy to make the bowl even for beginners because of using the grinder that doesn't require any skills compared to bits.

It might be better to start with a small piece of wood to learn the skill.

If you try this way, please do it at your own risk.

I also make a handmade hairbrush and a wood plate by using this method.

<p>i really like the idea that you fixed them on a drill, thank you</p>
<p>Thanks, Dr-SJ!</p>
I'm not seeing any instructions. ..just materials needed to make. Nothing about rice glue. would like to try the bowl
<p>I find out this site (<a href="http://www.wikihow.com/Make-Rice-Glue">http://www.wikihow.com/Make-Rice-Glue</a>) written in English. I hope this helps you.</p>
<p>What do you mean with 'grains of rice' to make the putty?</p><p>Do you have to use water or??</p>
<p>Use grains of boiled rice (Japonica types) as glue and mix with woodturning dust. This is a traditional method and pretty simple.</p><p>cf. <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rice_glue"> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rice_glue</a></p>
