very true i have a book that is supposed to be a pocket book but it is bigger than 99 percent of school backpack that has a lot on survival and tells how to make a bow

Actually, if you want to make along lasting bow, you want it to be dry. When it is wet it will bend well, but it will stay in the bent shape after daily use. You should look for wood that is springy when it is dry. I normally use mulberry or cedar to make my bows, the recommended woods include yew, Osage, dogwood, ash, Cedar (juniper), and many more. I like mulberry because it is very springy and it has a smooth draw. Cedar is springy too, but its draw isn't quite as smooth as mulberry.

FINALY! Someone else who thinks cedar is the wood of choice for bowmaking. A branch from a western red cedar tree is in my opinion the best natural bow making material available, although I don't have access to yew or osage orange or any of those famous ones.

that's easy. you first straiten the arrow with the candle. next put the super glue in a strait line on each side. next put a noch on the side closest to the feather. after that put a noch on the other side finally super gle the arrow headin th front notch and tye it on. now your done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

has any one ever try to carve a proper bow (not a stick w/ string tied to each end)
Jan 13, 2009. 3:59 PMJaycub says:
I am experienced in making "proper" flat self-bows.
Oct 9, 2008. 7:08 PMFirebang says:
You can skin it, just make sure that you don't cut anything off. The bow can't be extremely flexible, you don't get any twang from it.

Yes it could be better, in terms of spelling and grammar, but ... These guys hating on the bow itself are n33bs that need to tell you how to improve it, instead of criticizing. SO MEH TO THEM.

Jun 11, 2008. 3:51 PMAburame Shino says:
I can spell it any way I want, because we do NOT live in Cuba. If I did live in Cuba, I'd kill Castro because he's just an old guy ... so it'd be easy. SO MEH TO YOU.
