Introduction: The Complete Guide to Knex Ammunition

About: i like poottaattooeesss!

this reveiws all the main types of ammo used in knex projectile weapons, and lists the pros and cons of each.

Step 1: Rods

these are the most common of all knex ammo. i would estimate that 70% of all knex guns use rods.

Pros: durable, reliable, work well in mags, decent range.

Cons: the main problem with rods is that they tend to flip sideways mid-flight.  this both reduces impact and increases drag, causing them to spin off target.  this happens to small rods earlier, but it has a greater effect on long rods.

Recommended for: all conditions.

Step 2: Oodammo

oodammo is a more aerodynamic alternative to basic rods. it flies further, is more accurate, and is easier to make then arrows.

Pros: accurate, good range, easy to make, works in special mags.

Cons: the main problem with oodammo is the limited number of weapons it will work in. there is also a chance that it may break on contact with target.

Recommended for: All wars,  indoor sniping.

Step 3: Arrows

with the longest range of pure knex ammo, arrows are mainly designed for long range sniping. they typically are used in slingshot or crossbows, and can fire as far as 200 feet! (with a huge gun.)

Pros: super long range, high power.

Cons: long reload time, uses many peices.

Recommended for: outdoor wars, sniping.

Step 4: Connectors

connectors are rarely used, for good reason. they have bad range, and are likely to jam.

Pros: i'm not sure there are any. but they're better than nothing.

Cons: bad range, bad reliability, bad accuracy.

Recommended for: a situation when you don't have many rods.

Step 5: Weighted Rubber Bands.

these can be used to make rubber band guns shoot knex. they can go further than ordinary bands.

Pros:carry their own power source,

Cons; bad range

recommended for: making a band gun legal in a knex war.

Step 6: Artillery Shells

these are the largest of all knex ammunition, if you are hit by one of these, it could seriously injure you.

Pros: long range (with a cannon, 120 feet.), HUGE  power.

Cons: high peice cost.

recommended for: destroying enemy forts, smashing mailboxes.
