the noise toy! (great for kids! :)

has there ever been a super quite day. do you love noise. kids do. so, i invented a really easy toy that makes a big bang. all you need is a tin, ruberband, a washer, and somthing to put a hole in the tin. i used a small nail off of my pool table. if you use a nail, use a semi-large one.

Step 1 The holes...

first you need to make the holes. take an object and make two holes. these holes need to be as wide as the staple you use. then, put a hole in the middle of those.

So how do you keep the rubberband from getting cut on the tin? I'm assuming that this is for kids right? So how do I take the sharp edge off and I can't see the pics or quite understand what you're talking about with the rubberband and staple. Maybe some better pics and clarification on how not to use all of my bandaids on my children. Swizzle

you make three holes. two that are far enough from eachother to put the ends of a staple into. put a hole between those holes for the rubber band. feed tha rubber band through middle hole, put paper clip through tha band, and pull so that the rubber band pulls on the staple and the staple goes in its holes. if you dont wabt your kids cut, make the hole from the outside. this will make the sharp metal bend into can, so it cant cut them.

I was thinking about the edges of the can not the nail holes. I don't have a fancy can opener that cuts the lid off so that you don't get cut. The set up sounds a bit easier now. use a metal file, sandpapaper, or anything else that can sand away the sharp edge and make it dull.
