Beleive it or not, there are actually many things you can get magnet wire from. What is magnet wire? Magnet wire is a thin (usually around 20-30 AWG) wire that is used to pass electricity through to produce a magnetic field. Notice though, that some of the things on this list (marked with a "*") could be dangerous for the every day person to take apart, so do so with caution, because I am not responsible for any injuries or death from taking apart the things marked by a "*"

Things that have magnet wire

-Fans- Almost any fan you take apart will have LOTS of magnet wire.

-Computer moniter*- I'm talking about the OLD computer moniters, not the laptop moniters.

-Televisions*- Again, not the new flat screens, I mean the older ones.

-Transformers*- Almost any transformer will work. Although, good luck getting it out of the core.

-Digital alarm clocks- There is a small transformer inside with magnet wire.

Many other things also use magnet wire, but these are just a few. If you like, please vote for in the electronics tips and tricks contest!!!
Some of these are good ideas, but speakers have only a few cm of wire. Unless you are talking about the very old electrodynamic speakers.
Yes, but it still is magnet wire...

How do you get it out in one piece?
Depending on what electronic it is, you can usually break the outer casing around it, and "spiral" it off. Kinda like a magnet wire spool.
crt monitors, old tv sets and microwave ovens, i get lots of magnet wires from these appliances.. also old electric fans and ac motors..
