Recently I made a workbench with my grandpa. We couldn't find for the life of us what to make it out of. So we thought wood would
eventually wear. then we thought about a metal workbench but that was to heavy if it was made out of just strong steel. then we came across an old brabecue. We both thought "thats it'.

Step 1: Cutting the Barbecue (making the Base)

This is my DAD'S BARBECUE SO THIS IS JUST FOR AN EXAMPLE.

Now it's time to make the base. Everything that you see in the red circle in picture 1and all of the stuff in picture two that you dont want in you workbench you need to take it off or take it out. (DO NOT CUT IT OFF) because you will need the main beams for the deck!!!

Step 2: Making the Shelfs

First clear out everything for the bottom shelf. Then place and screw in 1/8 inch plywood board to fit to your barbecue to the bottom of the barbecue.

SECOND SHELF IS OPTIONAL
For the second shelf you need to place and screw a 3/4 inch plywood board into the grease pan holders and you need to cut around the main beams.

For second shelf only
Place and screw in 1/8 inch plywood boardS on both sides and in the backin the openings.

Step 3: Attaching the Deck/main Board

You will need to get a 1 1/4 inch plywood board that is at least spanning the width and depth of the barbecue for the deck/main board. To attach the barbecue to the deck/ main board you will need 1 by 2's going around all of the barbecue screw into main beams. Next you will need to screw the deck/main board into the 1 by 2's.

Step 4: Attaching Pegboard

First get a pegboard. (My pegboard had a metal frame that we screwed to the deck/main board) Next if your pegboard does not have a metal frame make a wooden one. You would make a wooden frame by attaching 1 by 2's or 2 by 4's to the back of the pegboard. then make a rectangle made of 1 by 2's just like the metal version that I made in pictures: 1, 2, and 3. Next screw into place by screwing it to the deck/main board. Then place pegs in pegboard

Step 5: Final Touches

THIS IS OPTIONAL
(IF YOU DO PUT IN LIGHT OR POWER BAR MAKE SURE YOU DON'T SCREW INTO THE PARTS WITH FLOWING ELECTRICITY IT WILL BOTH ELECTRICUTE YOU AND BREAK IT!!!!)
