to get the screws you can uae a 2mm flat head screwdriver and if they break use a allen wrench. thats how i did it. im going to post pictures of mine when its done.

You will need a T8 screwdriver which you can get at any hardware store and a flat head screwdriver. You have to use the flathead to break the pin in the center. After all the pins are broken you can open it with a T8 screw driver. Or, you can order a Security Torx T8 from Amazon or Ebay.

You need a Security Torx T8. Right here is one that's exactly what you need. http://secure.llamma.com/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/25/products_id/611

Or just use a very small(jeweler's/watchmaker's) screwdriver.

Use paint made for Vinyl it won't wear off the plastic
Aug 11, 2009. 9:50 PMShut Up Now says:
if you use vinyl dye, do you still need a clearcoat? also, will your hands smell like paint from using the controller?
Aug 11, 2009. 10:37 PMcode9ster says:
I don't use clear coat I like the look of original. Thats what you will get with the vinyl dye. I guess you could use clear coat I have never tried it. I have never noticed the a paint smell on my hands yet.
Aug 11, 2009. 11:25 PMShut Up Now says:
So the dye isnt really coating the plastic, but is absorbed into it? interesting.. does that mean that using blue dye on red plastic will end with purple or still blue.
Aug 12, 2009. 12:46 PMcode9ster says:
I have never had a red controller only white and black white i paint black
Aug 11, 2009. 10:34 PMcode9ster says:
any paint that says vinyl dye will work make sure it doesn't say vinyl coating if it does it will wear off with hands they always put it in small print.

What kind of finish did you use, and how are the results holding up to hand wear? I painted mine with Krylon for plastics (which is supposed to bond and not wear off) but it's peeling off bad where my hands touch it on the bottom. It's possible it could be because of surface prep (I cleaned it, but not with acetone or anything) but I'm thinking of trying again. What finish did you use as the topcoat, and how does it feel? does it wear well / get sticky etc?
Jul 22, 2009. 4:01 PMmnhbsfg says:
try sanding and whiping down controller before painting so paint will stick better
