You don't get new weapons without new ways of using them. The west just has a more informal approach to training - though no less rigourous. I wonder why the concept of the martial arts form was developed and why it became so popular in the east.

Yeah I know, but I was amazed when I first saw that, works so nicely. But as you say when you think of it it's fairly likeley that something like that would happen. ie two significant dates are connected by being the same number in different bases, so really it's not even that impressive.
