How to Make the "Cutting Box"

Fantastic cutting box system with alot of useI agree on juices but this does not detract from a phenomenal idea! Perhaps making a reservoir rout on the cutting board and feed it into a side tray. increase the size of the cutting board about an inch on each side. you could then drill a hole on the cutting board in the reservoir and it would drain into one or both of the boxes on the sides for later removal and empty. tdonclift points our the spice subdivision with is great as well. could be done easily with a brad nailer and some cut slats. would not need many subdivides maybe for salt, and other non perishable spices that dont lose flavor when cut.I would also recommend coating all the drawers in butcherblock finish or beeswax so clean up on the drain is easy.

  • From Firewood Log to Bowl (First Woodturning Project)

I wish people would quit posting awesome lathe work like this..If I buy another tool for the shop my wife will cut me with a razor. Great job on the finished product. The one thing I can warn people is that if you intend to use these for food, use mineral oils, butcher block finish, or beeswax. be especially careful on using any oils containing nuts such as walnut. People with nut allergies can possibly get sick from those coatings (Usually more prevalent in the cheaper nut based oils). Its not worth the risk a mineral oil, butcher block finish, or beeswax will give just a good of a finish.

I do see what you are getting at here, on placing in a drawer, I could see a few changed for those of us without bigger rigs. however the spaced out area allows for better cooling. Its a great build. I had thought about doing a build similar and might take your idea and do a build. Possible replacing the center with plexi and a wood frame to show off neon and or parts. Definitely busted your tail on this one man....it shows...damn good looking.
