A quick tip when bending copper tubing that I've learned from a few steam fitter friends. Heat up the tubing with your torch, then quench in water. Its the exact opposite of tempering steel. If you let the copper cool off by leaving it sit like you would steel you actually end up hardening the metal making it difficult to bend.
