I'm Back... For those who remember me, How ya been?

I'm a little disturbed by what i'm seeing now... "home made weapons", "home made flash bangs"...

I guess it's to be expected, but I feel like I have neglected a whole lot of people out there who could have potentially injured themselves with some of the crap that has popped up here... and i know it's mainly kids doing these...

I promise, to try to put some stuff together for you guys to give you at least some foundation of having fun with the things that go boom... while still be safe.

As always, I have virtually no free time though... I'll do my best

BOXHARD

Yeah, I knew what ya meant... when I say "black powder" though... I mean just that, not a substitute... the real thing. It's so easy... I need to find time from work to do it and video and or take pictures though... I'll have to name it "Black Powder... with no MATCHES!... Microman" KN03 - Stump rot products are 99.8% pure Sulfer sublimed - Any drug store. Charcoal - and bbq briquett ground up fine mix, grind, screen, grind, apply 2-4 tons per sq ft of pressure for 1 hour... and there ya have it. Black powder... Simple. In fact it's almost too simple... I may do the "ice-melt" bomb instead... what do you think?

what is an ice melt bomb? if you don't mind me asking
BOXHARD (author) says: Mar 20, 2008. 9:18 PM
Well, Potassium Chloride is the main ingredient in some ice melts... potassium chlorate is some some bad mutha stuff... you have to first derive it from potassium chloride... This involves some chemistry, But the thing is, It's not really worth it. Because you can buy potassium chlorate in pure form for about as much as it would cost to make it from ice melt. After I made that previous post, I thought about it and I really don't think I should put up an Instructable about it... it's too dangerous. So, anyways, Potassium Chlorate, glychol, and wax is a form of plastique explosives... so it's a fun build... but that's all I really want to say on here... Google it, and don't do anything stupid... it's not worth it.

Where do you live? What about an agricultural store and buy potassium nitrate? It's tough to get ammonium nitrate unless you have a license... but KNO3 has no restrictions... btw... Ammonium nitrate can be fun... if ya add water it gets really cold... it's what's in a lot of instant cold packs... and it is highly reactive with zinc... mixed with zinc it will spotaineously combust in the presence of moisture...

live in NZ. Im sure this stuff is easy to get. Im only 14 though hehe. Me and my friend have been making all sorts of things with KNO3 but I have never found any myself
