My mother tongue is French. I work 15 year oversea speaking only English in Bermuda and I interacted with a lot of foreigner (Indian, British, Australian, Bosnian ...). My best advise to help them being understood is. (Even if it is only to ask for the toilet.) Speak slightly more slowly but naturally and ask the person that speak to you to do the same.In our native tongue the voice dip between each word, we do that without thinking. In a new language, our subconscious cannot find that dip when we ear it, or reproduce it when we speak it. The brain has to do the job instead. Speaking slightly more slowly allow the brain to do the job while keeping the flow of your ideas. They feel they are important to you.

    Travel Emergency Flash Drive

SD card goes when your money goes with the thief.Note: do not put your USB key on your bag with that kind of lanyard. If you can cut it with with a knife then a thief will do better with a razor blade.Keep it on your key chain in a pocket with a double of some of your house keys. Don't keep the car keys on the same set. Steal the car with the car keys and they get away with your USB key at the same time.

These algorithms include: Blowfish, Cast128, Gost, IDEA, Misty1, AES/Rijndael, and Twofish.I think AES/Rijndael is banks/military encryption grade.

  • 7 Easy Tips to Reduce the Stress of Travel

I stay away of all wallet with money all together, Too easy to steal in one swipe.I distribute the money everywhere. In a hold up then give the smaller bunch, limit the damage.Put some money or cards in my front pocket, then flip the inside backward. It make it harder to access the content of the pocket. Old cancelled cards found in a yard sale or toy cards can be given too. I destroy the metallic band of the card. If you have to explain to a cop why you these cards, then they will believe you explication because the cards are unusable.Love the idea of the fake wallet with fake money, will love to see the face of the thief.

How to Make Conductive Play Dough.

Hail impact penetration evaluation system.Layering the dough like a series of pancake. Each layer separated of the next by a thin layer of non conductive dough. The top layer is the one providing the current. An object penetrating the layers compress/blend the layers that it penetrate allowing the current to pass between each other. Thus giving a rough estimate of how deep the object went. This sensor can be used to evaluate cheaply the penetration power of any small object. (Hail, Falling object [Science project], impact of a slug from a sling shot, CSI style [knife penetration], meteorite [I must be hallucinating], etc.)The only drawback is that it cannot be reset. But so what, it so cheap do make. This can be use by school or anyone else.

It is possible to replace the sisal by carpet (Just have to match the color.) You can also enlarge the side scratching panel to protect more surface of the couch. Happy couch, happy cat.

  • Staying alive while playing with high voltages

How about chainmail armour (head to toe) like the one for diving? This will make a kind of faraday cage around you. Saw a variant of it being used by an artist to be under electric arc. Used by people who worked on High voltage power line.

    Spectrum light source

Could be very useful. It can be used to study documents under different color of light. Some old/hard to read/damage documents are easier to read under lights of different color.CSI on TV simply use a much more advance lighting than this one. For the simple mortal like us this system is great.

    Soldering Station

Very interesting concept, extremely easy to expand as needed like adding more arms or can support more gadgets. The concept can be use for more than just electronic work e.g. making models. Thanks for the idea.
