How To Make Your Own Sugru Substitute

Just made it. As regards mixing, I found a quicker, cleaner and more through way. I was forced to rethink the mixing process as my wife looked at the clouds of cornstarch and growing pile of broken popsicle sticks with some dismay. And I was getting frustrated as the mixing process was not easy.I spread a plastic bag open on its base, squeezed a pile of silicone caulking into the bottom. I measure a similarly sized heap of corn starch next to it (giving a rough 1:1 mix), then I closed the bag, without sealing it, forced everything into one corner and mashed/kneaded it with my fingers on the outside of the bag.It all mashed together very quickly and very evenly, and very cleanly. It scraped easily off the bag when I started to use it.When moulding it around the joints in the pic, I found initially that I started too soon while the mixture was too sticky. I think, because I managed a very quick mix, I had longer to work with the Oogoo. And after I finished the work in the pic, I still had a soft still-kneadable and non-sticky lump to play with.Really wonderful stuff! In case you're wondering, the make in the photo is a prototype for a project and I didn't waste any bits - after I prove the concept, I will build a permanent model and use real PVC cement.Great stuff, this Oogoo.PP
