I will consider the Crowdfunding option :)"For use with dementia patients you should probably make the shoes respond to a call without needing the wearer to cross his feet first." ==> The wearer doesnt have to cross his leg for the shoe to be able to respond the call. The algorithm does it all by itself, once the call is detected by the circuit, it automatically hangs the call and reverts a SMS with the Location coordinates.

That is a great Idea sir! If your concern is heat building up on the charger, LEDs can be used! The Idea is important, we are here to develop it further. P.S Every Idea has a bug, but that doesn't mean it isn't worth trying. BTW Great Instructable @djmessick
